| The
general-secretary of the SVG Green Party Ordan Graham (left) who
was arrested and charged with sedition had bond posted Wednesday
by party leader Ivan O’Neal (right), at the new court house
at Lower Kingstown Park. He was detained after refusing to cooperate
with police regarding an alleged controversial comment he made at
an August 27 mass political meeting in Buccament.
Graham was reportedly called by the police on Monday 18, and was
asked to report to the central police station for a voluntary interview
on the matter.
Having refused the police's request he was arrested on Tuesday 19
by officers of the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) at the
Harmony Hall home of the Green Party leader, Ivan O'Neal.
He then appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Sharda Bollers and
pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Graham was quoted as making a threatening statement against Prime
Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves.
He was released on bail in the sum of $5 000 with one surety, and
was ordered to report to the Calliaqua police station every Wednesday
between 12:00 noon and 9:00 p.m.
The Prime Minister had previously reacted to Graham's alleged "blood
will run" comment saying that it was irresponsible and could
amount to a criminal offence.
