The socially conscious SVG Green Party sends a strong wake up call to Vincentians that the objective of the Argyle military Airport construction is to provide a stepping stone for Hispanics to take over SVG, namely: Cuba, Venezuela and Mexico When the Hispanics gets a foothold in SVG, we will be back to square one – colonialism! It would then take drastic solutions to dislodge colonialism from SVG again. We cannot afford a Grenada scenario in SVG.

In 2006, the visionary SVG Green party made a prophetic call at Buccament to the government that if they did not change their draconian policies in SVG, then blood would run. We have living proof of that happening now in SVG. The senior High Court judge of SVG and two Queens Councils raised strong concerns about serious crime plaguing our once peaceful country on 31st July 2008. If we allow Hispanics to take over our blessed country, the environment in SVG would change so drastically that squalor, poor health, high unemployment, serious crimes and the breakdown of law and order will become the fruits of our country. Vincentians should not sit back and allow this to happen.

Hispanics culture and Caribbean culture are like oil and water they do not mix. Hispanics like dictatorship style of government which is being forced on us in SVG. Had Ralph Gonsalves embraced democracy fully he would have put the construction of the Argyle military airport to a nationwide referendum, but he is aware that the false argument put forward for the military airport at Argyle would not stand up to a referendum. The Argyle military airport is the chief source of political oxygen for the ULP regime, and the subtle long term take over of SVG by the Hispanics.

The importation of Hispanics is a threat to our economy and puts Vincentians into greater poverty. This process means millions of dollars will fly from our country and will not be re circulated in to our economy, businesses and small traders will not see it, as it will be spent in Hispanic countries. Gradually our economy will get weaker, and the poor will be pushed further into poverty.

Hispanics are keen on SVG as it is considered to be the last Virgin of the Caribbean and believed to have large deposits of oil in our Grenadines waters. With oil heading towards $200 per barrel, there are good economic reasons why Hispanic nationals want to take over SVG.

The military airport at Argyle is a curse and an economic misfit to our country. There are better alternatives that can build a strong economy and make Vincentians rich as opposed to the incoming Hispanics. It is not too late to cancel this military project in the best long term interest of Vincentians, especially the poor.

The SVG Green Party is saying that we cannot afford a head on collision with Hispanics in our country. We are therefore calling on the Hispanics to keep out of our country. The Hispanics hidden agenda is to control SVG under the guise of helping the ULP regime to build the Military airport at Argyle.

An SVG Green Party Government will build a strong and sustainable economy using indigenous resources in a multi sector /multi variable economy, where Vincentians and other nationals can live in peace and harmony.
