Dear Secretary General Ban Ki-moon,
On the night of Friday 16th February 2007, the President of Venezuela paid an official visit to SVG. The civilian airport, E.T. Joshua, was closed for traffic to civilians for a number of hours to facilitate landing and parking of the presidential military helicopters and Hercules transport aircrafts. The helicopters can carry sophisticated modern weapons. The SVG Green sees the presence of so much military hardware in St. Vincent by the President of Venezuela, as a blatant and naked act of aggression and intimidation against the civilian population of our peaceful country. No other head of state in the world is escorted by so much military fire power. Please refer to the enclosed press release dated Tuesday 20th February 2007.
SVG Green Party is calling on the Secretary General to intervene and seek an explanation for so much military firepower in St. Vincent and the Grenadines on 16th February 2007.
I have served over 31 years in the British Royal Air Force and have extensive knowledge of military aircraft and so you will ascertain that my reasons for concern are serious and genuine.
